Father Damien Karras is a fictional Jesuit psychiatrist and priest, most notably portrayed in the horror film The Exorcist (1973), based on the novel by William Peter Blatty. He is played by actor Jason Miller.

Karras grapples with a crisis of faith, exacerbated by his mother's declining health and eventual death. He is initially skeptical of demonic possession but is drawn into the case of Regan MacNeil, a young girl exhibiting disturbing behavior.

Ultimately, Karras becomes convinced of Regan's possession and is granted permission to perform an exorcism alongside the experienced Father Lankester Merrin. During the exorcism, he confronts the demon Pazuzu. He eventually provokes the demon to possess him instead of Regan, sacrificing himself to save the girl by throwing himself out of a window.
